Are there just too many bowl games or is it just me. I love football, it is my passion to watch both College and Pro. What gets me is the fact that 68 teams get to play in a bowl game. Theres only 119 D1 schools so over half get in. Imagine if half of all D1 NCAA Basketball made the tourny? Half the NCAA Baseball teams make the Series? Again I love football but it seems we are rewarding 6-6 teams just so the conferance they represent can have a peice of the pie. The love of the Game has been taken over for the love of Money. I know the NCAA is all about the cash but now they are bring us into it by force feeding the likes of Florida Atlantic and Kentucky both 6-6 teams. The NCAA needs a playoff system in a big way, keep your bowl games and your money, there is a way to do both. Are they scard no one will go see the #9 seed play the #3 seed for a chance to move on to the second rd and maybe the National Championship game? NO. WIth the forced feeding happening I just wonder how do I get my peice of the action. There is money to be made here and we Americans are willing to spend it. So until I figure out how and until the BCS realizes we need a playoff system we are stuck watching 6-6 ball clubs. Maybe the NFL should adopt this therory then we won't have 10, and 11 win teams sitting at home during the playoffs.

The SEC title game has lived up to it billing here in the 1st half. Both defenses making a stand when they needed it and bringing pressure on both Quarterbacks. The run game is gone for both Bama and Florida. Bama finally broke down with a five yard TD to Nelson with 2:56 left in the 2nd quarter to go up by 7. Then the Gator D really came alive stopping Bama from any points. The Gators have now scored 10 consecutive points since Bama’s last points. Both teams need adjustment Bama needs controlled and hidden blitzes. The corners of Bama need to contain the coverage. They have had 2 bad mistakes but can make up for that. Florida needs to get the ball out and spread it around and keep the running game turning.

Sat is the day we have been waiting for. South Carolina travels north to play Clemson. I am not going to go into Stats or how the series has played out over the years. When these two teams meet nothing is what is should be and any team can come away with a huge victory. For Clemson is means a wining season, For South Carolina is means great recruits that are on the line, it means an end to great year with a great chance for the Outback Bowl. USC has more to gain with a win then a loss for Clemson. Clemson has already lost. Its season has been a bust and this one game may determine the coaching situation up north. I am partial and will be cheering on those Gamecocks. So lets go Gamecocks. But I do pray for a good game, no injuries even though it may be messy with the rain that has been called for. For all those going God speed and have fun.

The Giants and The Titans are both on a roll and the talk will now be are they the two teams to go to the SuperBowl. Where they look like the best two teams from each divison there still is a lot of football to be played. But of all the other teams With Pittsburgh and the Jets. Who else are the teams to beat and and be there when the Playoffs come around.

Today BSU takes on its great Nemesis Idaho University in what was once a great showdown. In the days of old in which no one speaks of Idaho ruled the years games until the last 10-12 years. BSU has done well building a winning program while Idaho has not only stepped backwards but ran backwards. Idaho University is trying to build a prgram worth watching, however they have been through many coaching changes some not to their decision but coaches getting other offers and moving on rather quickly. Todays game like the last 5 plus games in this in state matchup will not be a game, it will be over at halftime. It is a good time to bring in the new classmen and get some good playing experience for next year. This brings the problem with most BSU games their opponents are way to easy. The fans love it, they win every week by 50. But whats a win worth if it never brings you a national Championship. One day we might see one if BSU gets lucky and moves to a bigger conferance of even better and the NCAA gets a playoff... Well seeeeeee..

The Jets and Patriots play tonight its not the same with out Brady in the mix, so is this game as important to you to watch as a football fan? The fireworks of last year are not there and the excitment has wore off. I'm not so sure the Patriots even look as they did last year during games. I did not think Brady would have had a year as he did before just but the stats given from players before him. But that was not to say the offense would still not put up a good amount of points. The Jets won the first match up. But they have improved greatly and I think they could keep that up tonight and beat the Patriots.
